Our Ceramic Mesh sanding discs deliver a fast, long-lasting cut across wood, auto body, and metal work. Built on a ceramic abrasive grain with an open mesh backing, these discs are rated for wet or dry use and extract dust across the entire surface instead of through a fixed hole pattern, so there's no lining up holes with your sander's dust port. 5" (125mm) diameter with hook-and-loop backing for quick disc changes.
Thanks to the mesh's superior dust collection, these discs go well beyond woodworking, auto body, metal work, drywall finishing, concrete, and epoxy all benefit from the added airflow. Anywhere sanding kicks up serious dust, mesh handles it better than a standard disc.
Which Grit Should You Use?
Not sure where to start? Here's a quick breakdown of what each grit range in the P80 to P800 lineup is built for:
P80 to P120: Shaping & Smoothing
The step after heavy removal. Use these to smooth out scratches from coarser grits and refine the shape of your surface before moving to finer finishing work.
P150 to P220: Pre-Finish Sanding
The standard prep stage before stain, paint, primer, or clear coat. This range smooths the surface enough that finish products go on evenly without highlighting scratch marks.
P320 to P400: Fine Finishing & Between-Coat Sanding
Used for scuffing between coats of paint or clear coat, and for fine surface prep where a near-final finish is needed before the last few passes.
P600 to P800: Extra-Fine & Wet Sanding
Common in auto body work for wet sanding clear coats and removing fine imperfections before polishing. Also used on wood for a glass-smooth pre-finish surface.
