Purple Ceramic Sanding Disc Project Packs 6 Inch (150mm) 49-Hole

Our Purple Ceramic Project Packs give you a full grit sequence in one box, so you can take a project from rough stock to finish-ready without ordering four separate grits. Built on a ceramic abrasive grain with a durable film backing, these discs cut faster and last longer than aluminum oxide on hardwoods, cured finishes and body filler, and they are rated for wet or dry use. 6" (150mm) diameter with a 49-hole multi-hole pattern for dust extraction and hook-and-loop backing for quick changes.

Will It Fit My Sander?

The 49-hole pattern fits Festool 150mm sanders, including the Rotex RO 150, ETS EC 150/3, ETS EC 150/5, ETS 150/3 and ETS 150/5. If you run a 6 inch sander with six holes around the pad, you need the 6-hole pack instead.

Count the dust extraction holes on your sander pad before you order. A pack with the wrong hole pattern will still sand, but the holes will not line up and you lose most of your dust extraction.

What Is In Each Pack?

Workhorse Pack: 18 discs, P40 to P150
Three discs each of P40, P60, P80, P100, P120 and P150. These are the coarse and medium grits that do the heavy lifting: stripping old finishes, removing paint, flattening glue-ups and milling marks, leveling rough surfaces, and shaping material. The full sequence is here, so you can step through it without skipping grits, and it carries you to P150, which is finish-ready for stain, paint or primer on most work.

Fine Finish Pack: 20 discs, P180 to P400
Five discs each of P180, P220, P320 and P400. These are the finer grits for the last passes, where scratch pattern is what shows. Use this pack for final surface prep before stain or clear coat, and for scuffing between coats of paint or finish. There are more discs per grit here because finishing passes cover more surface area.

Which One Do You Need?

Starting on bare or rough material, choose the Workhorse Pack. Starting on a surface that is already flat and smooth, or sanding between coats, choose the Fine Finish Pack. Working a project end to end from rough stock to final coat, take both. Together they give you 38 discs covering P40 through P400.

Finishing with a hard wax oil such as Rubio Monocoat? The Workhorse Pack is the one you want. Sanding past roughly P180 closes the grain and the oil cannot penetrate properly, so the Fine Finish Pack is the wrong choice for that job.
